21st Birthday in Vegas

I had to be careful who was around when I said, "I'm going to Vegas for my 21st Birtday!!" since some people at BYU gave me questioning looks when they heard this and didn't know that's where I was from :)My birthday celebration in Las Vegas included 2 fillings at the dentist, which, I'd have to say was definately the highlight of the day(I'm Kidding), alot of fun golfing with my family and twin neice and nephew, and lots of mom's homemeade carrot cake!

Bread...both Disaster and Masterpiece

Yes...that's my bread. It rose WAY too much to say the least, even though I followed the recipe to the tee (Side Note: I wouldn't recommend this recipe)

But THIS is how it turned out in the end...perfect and delicious, if I do say so myself (Side Note: I would definately recommend this recipe)

Before and After

So Jeff got another haircut today. He had never used a buzzer before so we decided to try it. We soon learned though, that if you cut it too short...too bad. I think he still looks incredibly handsome, and his curls will be back soon :)

BEFORE & AFTER:

Cuteness Galore!

Adam, my nephew is just my favorite...(along his twin-sister Rachel)...especially when they do things like this...

Easter Excellence

So Smiths ran out of egg-coloring kits, so we decided to water color our eggs this year. We highly suggest it! Just take a look...

Shedding Some Tears...

It's true. I cried when today when I left the wonderful third grade class I have been working with for the past month. As my partner and I headed out the door, the kids thronged us with hugs and goodbyes, and even a couple of them had tears streaming down their cheeks (both of them boys) :) We left with hand-drawn pictures, rocks, shells, and their used pens as parting gifts. One month goes by so quickly, but I feel as though I have been teaching them for months. I suppose its because I got to know each one of them personally and was able to develop a bond with each student. From this experience, I have come to realize the love that our Heavenly Father has for each of us, because if I think I love these kids, I can't imagine how much more He does. Thank you Third Grade class, for securing my desire to be a teacher.

Warm-Weather Fun!

Jeff and I awoke this morning to a beautiful spring day, finally...some warm weather! Since it was Sunday, and we couldn't go golfing, we decided to celebrate the long awaited warmth with a picnic instead :) After church, we came home, packed our lunch, and traveled all the way to the grassy area in front of our complex :) Jeff seemed slightly embarassed at first, as we were right by the street with cars and people going by looking at us funny; but I have always been of the impression that everyone needs a good picnic in their life, so we just smiled and waved. Knowing Utah, it will probably be snowing again tomorrow, but it was fun while it lasted. Go have a picnic.

TeAcHiNg!!!

Hooray for teachers! Yesterday was my first day of teaching a third grade class at Meadow Elementary for my BYU Practicum assignment...and I LOVED it. Although there is a lot to do, I think it will be a great learning experience and lots of fun. When my partner and I introduced ourselves to the class, the kids immediately began asking questions, "What's your favorite color?" "What is your favorite animal?" "Do you read Calvin and Hobbs?" etc. You know, all the important questions you need answered in order to really get to know a person :) One boy imparticular, Brock, has been flirting with us too. In fact, when it was time to go to lunch, he looked at us and yelled, "Come On... LADIES!" Hmm...flattering I guess? We teach our first lesson Monday morning. Wish me luck! By the way...what's your favorite color? ;)

Jeff's first Haircut...by Jill

Last Sunday, I gave Jeff a haircut, and though I had never cut anything before, it didn't turn out too bad! Although, it did take almost two hours, and during it Jeff stated, "Wow, my head has never felt this big." :) Here's to the next lifetime of cutting Jeff's Hair... (sorry there are no pictures to match this exciting event, both of our cameras are broken)

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year part 2

"The TREE" Every year, my brother Ryan and his wife Amy decorate a huge pine tree in their front yard with thousands and thousands of lights, and we go down to help :)

Yes, that's a crane...

The finished product

While we were there, we also had alot of fun playing with our twin niece and nephew, Rachel and Adam :)

Around Christmas time, we also had fun playing with this little guy, our nephew Bennett
